I trained as an architect and interior designer, graduating with a Gold Medal in Architecture, and began my career in Singapore working with interior design firms on government projects. Those years shaped my belief that every space should reflect the people who use it making it personal, intentional, and impossible to replicate.

As friends began buying homes, I often saw them struggle to find artwork that truly resonated. People were often trying to find something that they felt deeply connected to. That realization led me from architecture and interior design into art. If spaces are designed to be unique, the art within them should be just as personal.

At Sam Bankal Studio, my work is deeply collaborative. Clients share the stories, emotions, and energy they want their space to hold. From there, I interpret those ideas through my own artistic language by developing the concept, textures, and colors that bring the piece to life.

The result is not a custom order, but a shared creative journey: a balance between the client’s story and my artistic vision. Each piece becomes something that cannot be repeated - art that belongs uniquely to the person and the space it was created for.
