How does a story becomes a work of art?
The Process
Listening
Every artwork begins with a conversation. People arrive with memories, relationships and fragments of their lives that hold meaning. These are sometimes joyful, sometimes deeply emotional. I spend time listening to these stories, understanding what lies beneath them, and noticing the small details that make them personal and true.
Interpreting
Once a story settles, it slowly begins to take visual form. Symbols, gestures, textures and colors emerge as ways of holding the emotion of that memory. Sketches and ideas evolve, allowing the story to transform into a visual language that feels both intimate and timeless.
Creating
The final work is built through layers of paint, texture, material and intention. Each mark becomes part of the narrative, holding pieces of the story within it. When the piece leaves the studio, it carries with it something more than an image: it becomes a living reminder of the moments, people, and feelings it was born from.
