The inspiration came from observing how a one-year-old experiences life, not in linear stories, but in fragments of color, feeling, and recognition. Travel memories, favorite animals, beloved books, nature, and family all exist as joyful impressions. The mother’s vision of a bright yet balanced room guided the palett which was vibrant and thoughtfully distributed so the wall would stimulate the child while still feeling gentle and comforting.
The idea was to create a visual language of “little worlds”, each circle holding a piece of the child’s life. The circular format not only reflects playfulness but also continuity, wholeness, and protection. Every element was intentionally chosen to represent familiarity, joy, and memory, while still coming together as a cohesive, calming installation for the nursery.
The Story
Each piece tells a part of her story. One captures the cities she has already traveled to, marking the beginning of her journey. Another represents family through a forest of trees, rooted, growing, and connected. Her favorite books and familiar animal characters bring comfort and recognition, while the beach scene with the peacock reflects simple joys she already loves. A piece filled with flowers, rainbows, and books holds her parents’ wishes for a happy, abundant life. At the center is her portrait, radiant and alive and adorned with blooming flowers and gentle spirals, symbolizing growth, beauty and the unfolding of her world.
