The Geography Of Me
Size: 40x30cms each, 6 artworks
Materials: Acrylic paints
Process:
The process began with many conversations with somone who had travelled extensively across places such as Switzerland, Wales, London, Australia, and India and listening carefully to her stories and memories attached to each place. Photographs and individual visual references from the different chapters of the her life were shared. These images were brought together and carefully stitched into a single landscape, blending different places, elements, and memories so seamlessly that they became one continuous world.
Finally, the window was introduced - the central frame through which all these memories could be seen. Looking through it, the separate places transformed into one imagined wonderland: a world that belonged entirely to her, where every view held a familiar memory. Through these windows emerge the landscapes, vegetation, flora, fauna, architecture, and familiar spaces she remembered, including places she had visited and moments she had experienced.
